
Another earthquake hit Japan

Another earthquake struck Japan. The earthquake hit the capital Tokyo and surrounding areas on Friday (August 9) evening. The earthquake was of magnitude 5.3. Reuters news.
A strong earthquake hit Japan’s Kyushu region last Thursday (August 8) at noon. Many houses collapsed in that 7.1 magnitude earthquake. A tsunami warning was then issued for the southern coast of Japan.
After the earthquake on this day, the Japanese government for the first time in history issued a warning of a ‘megaquake’ or an earthquake of magnitude 8 or more on the Pacific coast. Prime Minister Fumio Kishida canceled a planned visit to Central Asia after the warning.
A few hours later, the capital Tokyo was shaken by a moderate earthquake. According to the news, buildings in Tokyo were shaken by the earthquake. At least one line of the Tokyo Metro was temporarily suspended due to the tremors. But soon the train started running again.
