Israel’s opposition leader Yair Lapid said opposition forces could unite to remove Netanyahu from power. He said this in an event conducted by an Israeli FM radio on Monday.

His comments came as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu dissolved his six-member wartime cabinet.

At the event, Lapid said, this government should be overthrown. Since Gantz has finally left the government, we have a way too. Opposites will work together. We will unite without ego to topple the government.

On June 9, Benny Gantz and Gadi Eisenkot resigned from Israel’s wartime cabinet. Since then, Netanyahu’s far-right coalition partners have been pushing for a new wartime cabinet.

Meanwhile, moves such as forming a new wartime cabinet with far-right coalition partners could further strain Netanyahu’s relationship with the United States and allies.
