The killing of Ismail Haniyeh, the political head of the Palestinian independence armed group Hamas, and Fouad Shokar, the senior commander of the Lebanese-based Islamic political organization Hezbollah, are feared to be a major attack in Israel. Due to this fear, it is said that the underground hospital is being prepared in this occupied country.

The northern city of Haifa in Israel has a huge underground hospital. The thousand-bed hospital has everything from operation theaters to maternity wards. Medical equipment has been brought to one end of the hospital. But till now there are no patients there.

The bunker was built by the Rambam Medical Center after the 2006 Israel-Hezbollah war. Usually it is a multi-storey car parking structure. But it is capable of hospital conversion in less than three days. The underground hospital was prepared after the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7 last year.

In the context of the recent escalation of Iran-Israel tension, doctors say that they are ready to deal with casualties in case of a major attack in Haifa city.

The BBC reported that the underground hospital has more than 2,000 beds. In the event of a major attack on Israel, patients will be evacuated from nearby hospitals. There is a separate ward for the treatment of the injured.

Director of the medical center Dr. Avi Weissman said, “No one knows when, when, when this attack could happen.” We have talked about this a lot. People are worried.
