Iraq’s prominent Shia cleric Muqtada al-Sadr has called on Arab and Muslim countries to close Israeli embassies. He also requested a full ban on Israeli products.

Muqtada al-Sadr said in a post on the social media X handle on Friday that the Iraqi government should adopt a clear diplomatic position regarding countries that have normalized relations with Israel.

He also said that the final resolution should be passed by the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to take action against oppressive Israel. May the United Nations be forced to take necessary measures.

Pointing out that Israel continues to violate all international laws and regulations in the Middle East, the leader of Iraq said that it is necessary for the Iraqi government and parliament to take international action against countries that will not boycott Israeli products and close their embassies.

In addition, Muqtada Al-Sadr emphasized that it is essential to support the oppressed people in the east and west of the world.

The Iraqi leader said these things after the recent Israeli attack killed the top leader of the Palestinian independence organization Hamas, Ismail Haniya, and the top commander of the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah, Fouad Shukur.
