The country’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that it has been decided when the ground operation of the Israeli forces will begin in the Rafah area of Gaza.

Netanyahu spoke about the timing of the operation in Rafah as Israel and the Palestinian independence movement Hamas held talks in the Egyptian capital Cairo for a ceasefire in Gaza and the release of hostages and prisoners.
Netanyahu said, “The detailed report on the Cairo talks came to my hands today. We continue to work towards achieving the goal. The goals are first and foremost to free all our hostages and achieve total victory over Hamas. This victory requires entering Rafah and eliminating the terrorist groups there. It will be done. A date has been fixed.’
Israel has been warning almost regularly to launch a ground operation in the Rafah area, which is located on the border with Egypt, just south of Gaza. More than 1.5 million Palestinians have taken refuge in this small area to save their lives from Israeli attacks. The leaders of different countries of the world have been opposing such a plan of Israel. As Egypt, France and Jordan jointly warned on Tuesday, ground operations in Rafah could have “dangerous consequences”.
