Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has warned that Kurdish armed fighters in Syria will either surrender their weapons or be buried with their weapons on Syrian soil.

He said that the separatist murderers will either say goodbye to their weapons or be buried with their weapons on Syrian soil. President Erdogan made these remarks at a meeting of lawmakers from his ruling AK Party in parliament on Wednesday.

Erdogan also said that we will eliminate the terrorist organization that is trying to build a wall of blood between us and our Kurdish brothers. Turkey is determined to maintain peaceful relations with its neighboring countries and help them establish internal stability.

He said at the meeting, “Whenever we see the flag of an independent Syria in Aleppo, Damascus, Hama, Homs, Daraa and Manbij next to our star-studded and crescent-shaped flag, we rejoice.”

Since the fall of Bashar al-Assad, Turkey has repeatedly insisted on eliminating the Kurdish militia YPG. The country’s government has also claimed that they will have no place on Syrian soil in the future. Now, the country’s main Kurdish armed groups are in trouble due to the change of power in Syria.

Turkey considers the YPG militia to be a major part of the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and an extension of the banned militia group Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK). The PKK has been waging an insurgency against Turkey since 1984.

The PKK group is mainly active in Syria and Iraq. This armed group has been carrying out terrorist activities against Turkey for a long time. Their attacks have killed nearly 40,000 people in the past few decades.

Erdogan also said that Türkiye is determined to eliminate this terrorist group.
