Genocide in Gaza ‘with the help of America’, Türkiye wants sanctions against Israel

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has accused President Joe Biden and his government of complicity in Israel’s crimes in the besieged Gaza Strip. He also called for sanctions against Israel.

The Turkish president said that the White House is ignoring the deliberate attacks that the occupying Israel is carrying out on the civilian infrastructure and facilities in Gaza.

The Turkish president said these things in an interview given to Newsweek on the eve of attending the NATO summit in Washington on Friday.

He said that Israel’s attacks on civilian installations in Gaza amount to war crimes.

Erdoğan said Israel is attacking people going to hospitals for treatment, attacking ambulances, markets, aid distribution centers and all areas that have been declared safe zones, which is a gross violation of human rights. They are able to carry out these human rights violations because of the cooperation of America.

Turkey, as a NATO member, has repeatedly condemned Israel’s barbaric aggression and massacres in Gaza. However, Erdogan pointed out that this aggression is possible with the support of Western governments. He also announced that his country has suspended all trade with Israel.

In the Newsweek interview, the Turkish president called for sanctions against Israel. He also said that no one is answering the question of who will impose sanctions against Israel for human rights violations.
