Yemen’s Houthis, supported by Iran, launched a missile attack on Israel’s Tel Aviv for the first time.

Yemen’s Houthi rebels fired a hypersonic ballistic missile at Israel on Sunday. Houthi spokesman Yahya Surrey claimed that the missile had hit the specific target indiscriminately.

However, no one was injured in the attack. The Houthis have vowed to carry out more such attacks in solidarity with the Palestinians.

The Houthi spokesman said the missile traveled 2,400 kilometers before hitting Israel. The missile took 11 and a half minutes to reach Israel from Yemen.

He also said that the news of the arrival of this missile caused widespread panic in Israel. At that time, 2 million Israelis stayed in shelters. Never before have so many people in occupying Israel gone to a shelter together.

The missile landed in an open area in central Israel at 6:35 am local time. Moments earlier, air raid sirens rang out across Tel Aviv and central Israel.

Reuters saw smoke rising from an open field in central Israel. However, it was not immediately clear whether the fire was caused by debris from the missile or the interceptor.
