Saudi Arabia has released the number of people who participated in the 2024 Hajj.
This number was reported by the Saudi Statistics Authority on Saturday (June 15).
According to the Saudi Statistical Authority, 1.833 thousand people performed Hajj this year. Among them, 16 lakh 11 thousand 310 foreigners and 2 lakh 21 thousand 854 Saudi and expatriate citizens.
According to the organization’s calculations, 9 lakh 58 thousand 137 men and 8 lakh 75 thousand 27 women are among the Hajids. Apart from this, the largest number of people have performed Hajj from other Asian countries except Arab countries. This number is 63.3 percent. On the other hand, the least number of people came from Europe, America, and Australia. Their number is 3.2 percent.
Last Friday (June 14) the holy Hajj ceremony began. Hajj begins on the 8th of Zilhaj, the last month of the Arabic calendar. Pilgrims stayed at Arafat Maidan all day on Saturday. Hazira is performing animal sacrifice today on 10th Zilhaj. After the Qurbani, there are two more days of various Hajj ceremonies.
However, this year, the Saudi government expected about two million Muslims from around the world to participate in the Hajj. In the beginning, the Saudi media gave such information. But in the end, the number of Hajid left 18 lakh.
