Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar has said that his country will not hesitate to take any decision in its own interest and in the best interest of the world.
He said this in a video message sent for an event in Mumbai, India on Saturday (December 21).
The Indian Foreign Minister said that India will not hesitate to do what it thinks is right for its own interest and what it thinks is good for the world. Moreover, Jaishankar also commented that no one will be given the opportunity to veto India’s decisions. However, it is not clear who exactly he was referring to when he made this comment.
He said that independence should never be confused with neutrality. We will do what is right for our national interest and global good. And we will not be afraid to accept anything while doing so. India will never allow others to veto its choices.
He said that India is standing at an important juncture today. The country is currently seeing new prospects for development. However, some old problems still remain that need to be addressed.
He claims that the world, which is struggling with problems like unhealthy habits, stress of life or frequent climate changes, can learn a lot from India’s heritage. But the world will know about this only when the countrymen take pride in this heritage.
According to him, technology and tradition must go hand in hand in the era of globalization. He believes that India’s progress is inevitable. But, it has to be done while maintaining the Indian identity. Only then can the country truly emerge as a leading power in a multifaceted world.
