Attacks and counter-attacks have been going on between Israel and the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah for several days. Iran issued a severe threat in this regard. The country warned on Saturday that if Israel attacked Lebanon, it would be met with an “all resistance front” by Tehran and its regional allies.

The Iranian Mission X said in a post that it “considers the Zionist regime’s campaign of wanting to attack Lebanon as psychological warfare.” But “if they launch a full-scale military attack, a devastating war will begin.” It will have full coverage of all options including all resistance fronts.

The warning came from Iran’s mission in New York amid heightened fears of a regional war between Israel and Lebanon’s Iran-backed Hezbollah movement. The two sides have been engaged in almost daily clashes since the start of the war in the Gaza Strip. Such clashes have also increased this month, with threats from both sides. Israel’s military says plans to attack Lebanon have been ‘authorised and legalised’.

In response, Hezbollah said that no part of Israel would be spared in a full-scale conflict.

The war in Gaza began last October, when fighters from the Palestinian armed group Hamas launched an offensive into southern Israel. Iran, which backs Hamas, hailed the attack as a success but denied any involvement. On the other hand, in addition to Hezbollah’s attacks in northern Israel, Iran-backed rebels in Yemen have repeatedly attacked commercial ships in the Red Sea.

They described these actions as a show of solidarity with the Palestinians.
