Iran killed 260 Afghan migrants on the border

More than 260 Afghan migrants have allegedly been killed in a spate of gunfire along the Iranian border. According to media reports on Thursday, the country’s border guards fired indiscriminately and killed the migrants.
A group of around 300 migrants were trying to cross the Kalgan-Saravan border between Afghanistan and Iran on Sunday evening, The Express Tribune reported on Afghan broadcaster Ariana News. Border security forces reportedly fired indiscriminately at the group, resulting in heavy casualties.
Iran-based human rights organization Halush claimed at least 260 Afghan civilians were killed and dozens more injured in the incident. However, the Iranian authorities have not yet given any official response to the incident.
Meanwhile, Afghan government spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid confirmed that the government is investigating the tragic incident. More detailed information may be available as the investigation progresses.
