Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has ordered Israel to be “severely punished”. The country’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said that the order will be implemented. IRGC Deputy Commander Ali Fadavi said this on Friday.

Fadavi said that the supreme leader’s orders to avenge Ismail Haniya’s blood and punish Israel severely are clear. These instructions will be implemented as best as possible.

Meanwhile, the US National Security Council spokesman John Kerby said about Iran’s possible attack on Israel, “We are fully prepared to defend Israel with a large number of weapons and resources.” We do not take any such threats seriously.

Last week, the US military announced the deployment of additional military equipment, including warplanes, to the Middle East.

However, the United States and Western countries continue to call for a reduction in tensions in the Middle East. In a joint statement last Thursday, the United States, Qatar and Egypt called on Israel and Hamas to resume ceasefire talks.

Incidentally, Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh went to Tehran last week to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Iran’s new president, Massoud Pezeshkian. He and his bodyguard were killed in a missile attack on their residence there. So far, no one has claimed responsibility for the attack, but Iran and Hamas claim that Israel carried out the killing. Therefore, Iran has announced to take revenge for this killing.
