Israel has attacked Lobban amid ongoing tensions with Iran. Israel launched airstrikes in eastern Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley early on Sunday, two security sources told Reuters. The attack came hours after an Israeli drone was shot down in Lebanon.

It is known that Israel carried out this attack targeting a training camp of the armed group Hezbollah in Janata village on the Syrian border. The sources said that Safari town, located near the eastern city of Baalbek, was also targeted.

Meanwhile, the Iran-backed armed group Hezbollah said on Saturday it shot down an Israeli drone. Hezbollah said in a statement that the Israeli army’s Hermage 900 drone was shot down by Islamic resistance fighters in Lebanese territory on Saturday evening.

Since the start of the Hamas-Israeli conflict on October 7 last year, Hezbollah and the Israeli military have regularly exchanged fire along the border. This is the worst violence on the Israeli-Lebanese border since the 2006 war between Hezbollah and Israel. The conflict between Hezbollah and Israel has greatly increased regional tensions.
