Japan has sent warships to the Taiwan Strait after China sent an aircraft carrier near two Japanese islands.
Deutsche Welle reported that Japanese newspaper Yomiuri Shimbun reported this information citing government officials.
According to the news, Tokyo is actually trying to send a clear message to China. That is why Japan sent a warship to the Taiwan Strait for the first time.
On the same day, China announced that it had tested an intercontinental ballistic missile in the Pacific Ocean.
The Japanese warship started sailing from the East China Sea on Wednesday morning. The Japanese newspaper reported that it reached its destination 10 hours later.
According to reports, Japan was accompanied by naval vessels from Australia and New Zealand.
Last week, for the first time, a Chinese aircraft carrier sailed past two Japanese islands near Taiwan. He was accompanied by two destroyers.
Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida ordered the warship to proceed to the Taiwan Strait, newspaper reports said, citing sources. Because according to him, China has invaded Japan’s territory. If no response is given, China will show more aggressive attitude.
However, Japan’s defense ministry has not said anything about sending warships.
China has repeatedly claimed that it wants to bring Taiwan under its control. Chinese leader Xi Jinping has repeatedly spoken of China’s unification.
Beijing considers Taiwan to be part of China. They claim that they have rights over the waters of this channel.
But like many countries, including the United States, patrolling the Taiwan Strait is commonplace. All countries have the freedom to use waterways.
