Jolani announces decision on Syrian rebel fighters

The country’s de facto leader Ahmed al-Shara, alias Abu Mohammad Jolani, said that all weapons in Syria will be under the control of the state. In addition, he also said that the rebel fighters will join the Syrian army.
Ahmed al-Shara welcomed Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in the Syrian capital Damascus on Sunday (December 22). The two leaders also held meetings on various issues.
Later, at a press conference, Ahmed al-Shara announced the name of the Minister of Interior of the Syrian interim government. At the same time, he said that all weapons in the country, including those held by the Kurdish rebels, will be under the control of the state.
Stating that the security of minorities in the country will be ensured, Shara further said that the rebel fighters will join the army in the future.
At the press conference, the Turkish Foreign Minister called on the world community to lift all sanctions on Syria. He also called on everyone to come forward to rebuild Syria. At the time, he warned the Kurdish rebels that the group would have no place in Syria in the future.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has accused the United States and Israel of being behind the fall of the Assad government in Syria. He also believes that the youth of Syria will resist the new government.
Meanwhile, a UN delegation is working with the country’s new administration to investigate the crimes committed during the Assad government’s rule in Syria over the past 14 years. It is reported that they will examine various information, including visits to prisons and mass graves.
