Jordan and the US Secretary of State’s phone conversation about Israel’s war in Gaza

Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken discussed Israel’s war in Gaza and the tense situation in Jerusalem.
They had a phone call on Sunday (March 17). The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Jordan gave this information in a statement. Turkish news agency Anadolu Agency reported this news.
The statement said Safadi “received a phone call today from US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.” The two discussed efforts to reach a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and to send adequate and sustained humanitarian aid. It is also said that the representatives of both countries also discussed the situation in Jerusalem during the phone conversation.
Safadi expressed fear that the humanitarian crisis could worsen as a result of the aggression in Gaza. He warned about this and stressed the need to “immediately stop the aggression”.
On October 7, Hamas fighters attacked southern Israel, triggering a long war in Gaza. According to Israeli statistics, about 1,200 Israelis were killed in Hamas attacks that day. At this time, armed fighters took 253 hostages to Gaza. In response to that attack, Israel launched a counter-attack on Gaza on the same day.
According to the Gaza Ministry of Health, at least 31 thousand 645 people have been killed in the Israeli aggression so far. At least 73 thousand 676 people were injured during this time.
