Musician Abhijit Bhattacharya made an explosive comment about ‘Bapu’ Mahatma Gandhi. Where he referred to this Indian freedom fighter as ‘the father of Pakistan’, which has started a huge uproar on social media. Recently, in a podcast, singer Abhijit Bhattacharya said that Mahatma Gandhi is the father of Pakistan, not of India.
While talking about legendary composer RD Burman in his podcast with journalist Subhankar Mishra, he said that Pancham Da (RD Burman) was bigger than Mahatma Gandhi. Just as Mahatma Gandhi was the father of the nation, Pancham Da was the father of the nation in the world of music.
The musician also said that Pancham Da was bigger than Mahatma Gandhi. He was the father of the nation in music. And Mahatma Gandhi was the father of the nation of Pakistan, not India. India has always been there. Pakistan was created. We mistakenly call Mahatma Gandhi the Father of our Nation.
Abhijit Bhattacharya made his debut in the Hindi music world through legendary music composer RD Burman. However, the two first met while working in a Bengali film. Early in his career, Abhijit used to perform in stage shows as a singer with RD Burman. Later, he sang for numerous Bollywood actors including actors Mithun Chakraborty, Vijay Anand, Aamir Khan, Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Sunny Deol, Sanjay Dutt, Govinda, Akshaye Khanna, Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty, Ajay Devgan.
Abhijit’s first success came in 1992 with the hit film Khiladi, where he sang memorable songs like Jatin-Lalit’s Wada Raha Sanam, Khud Ko Kya Samjhaati Hai and Kya Khabar Thi Jaanab. Since then, he has sung one hit after another. Although his market is in a slump now. He often expresses his anger about the fact that he does not get playback opportunities from Bollywood.
In the same podcast, Abhijit said about Bollywood king Shah Rukh Khan, “Shah Rukh Khan is in a different class.” And when asked about Salman, Abhijit said, Salman Khan is not yet at the level that I will practice with. Please change the topic. He also mocked the superstar by calling him a ‘drug dealer’ and a ‘thug’, citing Salman’s reckless driving on pedestrians on the sidewalk. He claims that no one wants to work with Salman. Salman keeps asking for work from everyone.
