More than 45,000 Palestinians have been killed in the Israeli brutal aggression. Even after this, the country has not been able to defeat the Palestinian independence armed group Hamas. In such a situation, the country’s former Defense Minister Benny Gantz has strongly criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He said that Netanyahu is not the right person to lead Israel.

This information was reported by the Anadolu news agency in a report on Saturday (December 20).

According to the report, the former Israeli Defense Minister commented on Friday that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is not the right person to lead the Jewish people.

In a post on the social media X, he said that Netanyahu is the prime minister, but he is not fit to lead a community like Israeli society. The state of Israel and Israeli society deserve a different leadership.

Netanyahu has faced intense criticism for refusing to negotiate a prisoner swap deal, mainly to free Israeli prisoners in Gaza, as well as corruption charges against him. In recent months, families of Israeli prisoners held in Gaza have increased pressure on Netanyahu’s government to reach an agreement.

Opposition leaders and families of prisoners have even accused Netanyahu of blocking the deal to maintain his position in power.

On the other hand, several far-right ministers, including National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gurion and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, have threatened to leave the coalition and bring down the government if a deal is agreed to end the war.

Netanyahu has also faced corruption charges in three high-profile cases involving bribery and breach of trust. Netanyahu’s trial in these cases began in 2020 and is still ongoing.

However, Netanyahu has denied the allegations and claimed that they are part of a political campaign to remove him from office.
