No more money to Netanyahu: US senator
US Senator Bernie Sanders said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should not be allocated any more money for the ongoing war in Gaza.
In a post on social media X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, he wrote, 19 people were killed and many injured in an Israeli attack on a “humanitarian zone” in Gaza this week. A US worker was shot in the head in the West Bank. And now (Wednesday) another school has been bombed, killing 14 people. Of which 6 were UN aid workers.
After that, Sanders said, “Enough is enough.” No more money for Netanyahu’s war machine’.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces killed 26-year-old Turkish-American activist Aysenur Ezgi Aygi during a protest against the illegal Jewish settlement in Baita town outside Nablus last Friday. The murder caused a worldwide reaction.
However, US President Joe Biden called the incident an “accident” and claimed that the bullet hit the ground and hit Iggy.
Biden has yet to offer condolences to Iggy’s family. But later he said, I am angry and deeply saddened by this murder. Full responsibility for this incident must be ensured and Israel must ensure that such an incident does not happen again.
US Senator Bernie Sanders has long been critical of the Biden administration. Especially regarding supporting Israel for the ongoing war in Gaza.
41 thousand 118 Palestinians have been killed and 95 thousand 125 injured in this war which started on October 7 last year. Most of them are women and children.
