North Korea has strongly condemned South Korea’s recent military drills using live ammunition. The country referred to the exercise as a ‘provocation’ and warned of ‘harsh consequences’.
South Korea said last week that the country had started a drill using live ammunition on the border with North Korea. South Korea held the exercise by suspending a military agreement signed in 2018 by Pyongyang and Seoul to defuse tensions between the two Koreas.
Kim Yo Jong, the influential sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, said the South Korean drills were an “unforgivable provocation”. He also said, the question is, why did the enemy exercise near the border of North Korea?
Yoo Jeong said South Korean President Yoon Sukh Yeal started the exercise to resolve the country’s political crisis. More than 100,000 signatories have recently signed a petition to impeach South Korean President Yoon.
