Myanmar, March 21: Imprisoned Myanmar pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi’s home has been put up for auction. The starting price of his home, which was auctioned on Wednesday, was set at $90 million. But no one came to buy the house.

According to a report in the British news agency Reuters on Wednesday, Suu Kyi’s house is located next to Inay Lake in Yangon. Its area is about 1.92 acres. Suu Kyi is at loggerheads with older brother Aung San Oo over ownership of the house. There is a legal battle going on.

In 2000, Aung San O sued for a share of the house. The case was decided in 2016. The court ordered the entire property to be divided equally between the brothers and sisters. But Aung San appealed the verdict. After a legal battle, Myanmar’s Supreme Court ordered the house to be auctioned.

Aung San Suu Kyi was arrested by the military in a coup in February 2021. Besides, many politicians of the country were imprisoned. Suchi was sentenced to 27 years in 19 criminal cases.
