Russia’s ambassador to the United Nations, Vasiliy Nibinzaya, has warned of the specific consequences of supplying Ukraine with US-made air defense systems, saying that any weapons sent to Ukraine would ultimately be destroyed, regardless of who sent the weapons.

Nibinzaya also said that the possibility of Israel supplying Ukraine with Patriot missile defense systems could have some concrete political consequences for Israel.

The Financial Times reported last week that the United States and Israel are discussing the delivery of eight Patriot missile defense systems from Tel Aviv to Kiev. According to the magazine, these Patriots will first be sent from Tel Aviv to the United States and then they will be given to Ukraine.

Since the outbreak of war between Russia and Ukraine in February 2022, Israel has only provided non-offensive logistics to Ukraine.

On the other hand, Russia has repeatedly warned Ukraine about the supply of foreign weapons. Moscow has maintained that foreign arms supplies to Kiev will only prolong the war and have no impact on the final outcome.
