In a viral video on social media, protesters were seen throwing boxes of food from the lorry to the ground and kicking them. Besides, in another video, a car was set on fire later in the evening. However, the BBC could not independently verify the videos.

Israeli media reports have described the protesters as right-wing groups that want to cut off humanitarian aid to Gaza.

The protest group said they were protesting for the release of prisoners held by Hamas in Gaza.

Meanwhile, the White House condemned the attack on the relief truck. They described the incident as a ‘robbery’ and ‘absolute outrage’.

The UN’s World Food Program (WFP) has warned that Palestinians in northern Gaza are facing ‘total starvation’. And in the south, where most Palestinians have taken refuge, the humanitarian situation is worsening.
