Ahmed al-Shara, the leader of the rebel group HTS, has taken over as the president of the Syrian interim government. The new president has made a statement on television for the first time since taking power. This statement contains an important message.

Ahmed al-Shara, also known by the pseudonym Abu Mohammad al-Golani, said that his main goal is to form a strong government.

He said that a national dialogue conference will be organized in Syria. Then a strong government will be formed with representatives of all parties.

Shara said that Syria is a diverse country. There are many different types of people living there. It is very important to pay special attention to ensuring that all types of people are represented in the government.

It is worth noting that the rebel group overthrew Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad last December. At this time, Golani came on the scene. He abandoned his pseudonym and started introducing himself as Shara. He emerged as a powerful politician in a very short time.

Shara said, ‘Establishing peace in Syria is the biggest goal now. In addition, peaceful elections need to be arranged. Only by bringing everyone together through discussions can we reach the elections.

He said that a committee will be formed for the National Dialogue Program. All kinds of people will be heard there. Opposition political opinions will also be given importance.

The president said that a small group will be formed. For now, they will sit in parliament and carry out the responsibility of governance.

However, Shara has indicated that the country’s constitution will be changed later. He said that a committee will be formed for that. Who will discuss the new constitution.

Ahmed had previously said that it may take at least four years to create a new constitution and the next elections. He said that the interim government will run Syria until then.
