Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas has called for an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council after the occupation Israeli forces carried out terrible massacres in Deir al-Balah and Nuseirat refugee camps in the besieged Gaza Strip.
On Saturday, Israeli forces massacred Palestinians to rescue some prisoners, killing at least 210 Palestinians. After that, Mahmud Abbas called for a meeting of the UN Security Council.
For this reason, he instructed the representative of Palestine appointed to the UN to take necessary steps. Mahmoud Abbas stated that the consequences of the massacre and bloodshed caused by the Israeli forces in the Nuseirat camp should be discussed in the Security Council.
Wafa, the Palestinian official news agency, said that the Palestinian president is in close contact with Arab countries and international parties. He also emphasized on the urgent intervention of the international community to prevent the ongoing situation in Gaza and the dire humanitarian crisis.
Mahmoud Abbas said Israel continues to violate international law and commit crimes in Gaza, capitalizing on the silence of the international community and US support.
On October 7, Hamas took more than 250 Israeli hostages from the Nova Music Festival. According to the Israeli army, four of them were rescued during a recent operation in central Gaza.
The Gaza Ministry of Health said that 210 Palestinians were killed in the joint air, land and sea operation in several places in central and northern Gaza, including Rafah, on Saturday. Many others were injured.
