The United States, Egypt and Qatar have called on Israel and Hamas to hold emergency talks on August 15 to finalize the Gaza ceasefire and hostage release agreement. The three countries are trying to broker an agreement between Israel and Hamas.

These countries called for this in a joint statement on Thursday.

According to the statement, this discussion can be held in Doha, the capital of Qatar or Cairo, the capital of Egypt.

In a statement, the three countries said an outline of the agreement is now on the negotiating table. Its implementation details only remain to be determined. There is no time to waste. Nor is there any excuse on the part of any party for further delay. Now is the time to free the hostages, start the ceasefire and implement the deal.

The leaders also proposed to present a final supplementary proposal to resolve some of the outstanding issues.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israeli negotiators will be there. Their aim is to finalize the detailed outline of the agreement and implement it. However, the Palestinian independence group Hamas did not immediately respond to this.

The statement by the three countries came as Iran threatened to retaliate over the killings of Hamas and Hezbollah leaders. When there is danger of a major conflict spreading in the region.

A senior US administration official said a settlement agreement is not expected to be signed by next week. Because it will take time to resolve important issues including negotiations between Hamas and Israel. Both sides need to be active at the negotiating table.
