Russian President Vladimir Putin called Vietnam one of Russia’s most reliable partners. He said, “Our relationship with the South Asian country has been going on for a long time and has made a lot of sacrifices with honor.”

He said these things after a bilateral meeting with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chin on Thursday.

At the time, the Russian leader, impressed by the hospitality of hospitable Vietnam, said, ‘Being a guest of Vietnam is really a pleasure. We are both long standing and reliable friends and partners of each other. The relationship between Russia and Vietnam has come a long way in terms of trust and mutual understanding, and they cooperate with each other in all fields with mutual respect. ‘

Putin also highlighted the heroic struggle, effective support and contribution of the Vietnamese in defending the Soviet Union against French and American aggression and later in rebuilding a post-war Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Putin said, ‘It is important that Vietnam also remembers this and cherishes the memory.’
