After the death of Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi, the head of the Palestinian independence organization Hamas, Ismail Haniya, met with the supreme religious leader of the country, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. This meeting was organized at the office of the supreme leader of Iran after the funeral of President Ibrahim Raisi on Wednesday.
Other leaders of the Palestinian Liberation Organization were also present at the meeting. They came to Tehran as representatives of Hamas to attend the funeral of the deceased President Ibrahim Raisi.
During the meeting, Khamenei told the Hamas leader that the heavenly promise to destroy the Jews will one day be fulfilled and we will see the day when Palestine will rise from the river to the sea.
In response, the Hamas leader said, “Insha’Allah, we will see that day together.” The head of Hamas expressed his grief over the death of the late Iranian president and offered condolences to Iran’s supreme leader on behalf of Palestine.
Incidentally, before the meeting, Hamas chief Ismail Haniya and Lebanon’s armed organization Hezbollah deputy leader Naim Kashem and representatives of Yemen’s Houthi rebels attended the funeral of the late president.
Addressing the crowd, the Hamas leader said, “I am here to express my condolences on behalf of the Palestinian people, as a representative of those who oppose the Israeli occupation of Gaza.” I am sure Iran will continue to support the Palestinian people.
