The United States proposed a draft ceasefire in Gaza to the UN Security Council. But the proposal was not passed due to the vetoes of Russia and China.

11 countries voted in favor of the UN Security Council resolution. Three countries oppose. And a country abstains from voting.

Moscow complains that Washington’s two-pronged policy is not putting any pressure on Israel.

Russia’s ambassador to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzia, said the draft was highly politicized and contained an effective green signal for a military operation in Rafah.

Meanwhile, talks on ceasefire and hostage release have started again in Qatar. Earlier, US Secretary of State Blinken said, we will reach an agreement soon. But there are still challenges.

Blinken is currently visiting Israel. There he is meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the implementation of the ceasefire.
