Former Prime Minister and founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has urged Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi to respect law and justice.
During an informal conversation with reporters at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi on Monday, Imran Khan told the Chief Justice that the entire nation is looking at you.
Imran Khan also said that he has written two letters to Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir. This is because all democratic paths in Pakistan are being blocked.
Despite the rejection of PTI lawmakers and two senior Supreme Court judges, the Judicial Commission of Pakistan headed by the Chief Justice is approving the appointment of six new judges to the Supreme Court. Imran Khan made this comment in this context.
Imran Khan has been imprisoned in multiple cases since he was ousted from power in April 2022. He has been in prison since August 2023. Imran Khan criticized the current ruling coalition government in Pakistan, saying that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, President Asif Ali Zardari and the ministers are all fake. Therefore, there is no hope from the parliament. Accusing the election results of February 8 last year of being stolen, Imran said that the parliament is not effective. It is a fraudulent parliament.
Regarding the talks between the PTI and the ruling coalition, Imran Khan said that he has no expectations from these talks. He told his party members that there is no need for these talks. He has demanded an investigation into the violence that took place around the protests on May 9 and November 26 last year with the government. The government is not cooperating in this matter.
