At least five people have been killed in a suicide bombing in Afghanistan. A suicide bomber detonated his explosives outside a bank in the northeastern province of Kunduz on Tuesday, local police said.
The bomb exploded at 8:35 a.m. local time outside a branch of Kabul Bank in Kunduz province, killing a bank security guard, the police said in a statement.
A civilian and four members of the Taliban ruling group in Afghanistan were also killed in the attack.
Provincial police spokesman Jumma Uddin Khakasar said at least seven people were wounded in the attack.
He did not name any suspected group as the attackers. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
The Taliban took power in Afghanistan in 2021 after the withdrawal of US troops. Since then, the Afghan branch of the Islamic State has been carrying out attacks against the Taliban.
