Islamic Emirate, Turkmenistan Strengthen Ties with Launch of TAPI Project

Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund, the Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate, said today, Wednesday, September 11, in Herat that the commencement of the practical work on the TAPI project would strengthen the relations between the two countries [Afghanistan and Turkmenistan].
The Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate also mentioned that with this initiative, Turkmenistan would enhance the relations and friendship between the two countries.
During the opening ceremony of the project, the Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate said: “This demonstrates the good intentions and wise policies of the national leader of Turkmenistan, its President, and other officials who maintain good neighborly relations with neighboring countries, especially Afghanistan.”
Meanwhile, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the President of Turkmenistan, stressed the continuation of relations between the two countries and stated that Turkmenistan is working to strengthen the ties between Ashgabat and Kabul.
Speaking online, the President of Turkmenistan said: “The good relations between Turkmenistan and Afghanistan continue. The commencement of the TAPI project and other projects is beneficial not only for Afghanistan but also for the countries in the region. Turkmenistan is striving to strengthen its ties with Afghanistan.”
At the same time, the national leader of Turkmenistan added at the ceremony that the TAPI project represents a true brotherhood with Afghanistan and a new chapter in Turkmenistan’s policy.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, the national leader of Turkmenistan, said: “Turkmenistan and Afghanistan have historical relations, and today they have proven their brotherly intentions to the world. Turkmenistan continues its political and economic relations with Afghanistan. These projects are also important for regional security and will connect Central Asia with South Asia.”
Turkmenistan is one of the countries whose embassy remains open in Afghanistan and has also accepted the ambassador of the Islamic Emirate in Ashgabat.
