Sunday marked 6 months of Israel’s brutal operation in Gaza. On the same day, Israel decided to withdraw some troops from Gaza. All troops have been withdrawn from southern Gaza. There is only one brigade south of the occupied territory.

The bloody conflict between Israel and Hamas has started since October 7. That morning, Hamas fighters suddenly crossed the border and entered Israel. At least 1170 Israelis died in this attack. Hamas took hundreds of Israeli hostages.

After this incident, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu started a special campaign to destroy Hamas. He is steadfast in his position despite thousands of oppositions and storms of criticism.

At least 33,175 Palestinians have died in the six-month conflict. Israel claims that its army killed 12,000 Hamas fighters. However, this number was not disclosed by Hamas. On the other hand, 260 Israeli soldiers died. 34 of the Israeli hostages died. Hamas sent back the bodies of 12 of them.

Israel decided to withdraw its troops amid the continuous death march. All troops have been withdrawn from southern Gaza. However, nothing has been officially announced by the Israeli army on this matter.

Incidentally, Israel has long been interested in raiding the town of Rafah in southern Gaza. They claim that the main base of Hamas is there. Therefore, if we want to completely eliminate Hamas, we must attack Rafah. But this plan of Israel has come under international fire more than once.
