Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi gave a strong response to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘mujra’ comment against India Alliance. He said, the Prime Minister must maintain the dignity of his post. ‘Mujra’ is a type of dance usually performed by courtesans. News from NDTV.
At a rally in Bihar on Saturday (May 25), Modi accused the anti-India alliance of communalism. He said, ‘India’s leaders are communal. So they want to introduce reservation on the basis of religion. Mujra has started by enslaving the vote bank.
Addressing a rally in Bihar, Modi alleged that the India Alliance was planning to take away the rights of backward communities and favor Muslims. But Congress and its allies have been denying this allegation.
The Prime Minister of India said, “Constitution is the most important thing for Modi.” Baba Saheb Ambedkar’s speech is important for Modi. Let the India Alliance do it if it has to slave for its own vote bank. If they have to go and perform mujra, let them do so. I am and will always be for the reservation of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes. I will fight as long as I have life.
The Prime Minister of India said, ‘If they come to power in the polls, the first thing they will do is to change the constitution. So that the court cannot cancel the attempt to give reserved seats to Muslims. I challenge them to refute me in writing. But they can’t do that. Because they do not have honest courage.
Modi said, Congress is on the way to defeat in Indian elections. RJD and Congress workers will be seen tearing each other’s clothes when the results are out. Modi also commented that Congress Raj Parivar will take the entire responsibility for the defeat on Mallikarjun Kharg and go on holiday abroad.
Meanwhile, Priyanka Gandhi counterattacked in a rally with her ally and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav in Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur and said, “No prime minister would have used such language.” What is Modiji saying? Is it not his responsibility to maintain the dignity of his position? We respect the post of Prime Minister. Everyone can see his reality now. Don’t show too much reality to the country. He has forgotten that he represents the country. What will the future generation of the country say?
He also said that BJP candidates are demanding that the constitution will be changed if the party comes back to power.
Criticizing Modi’s ‘mujra’ remarks, Tejashwi Yadav said that the Prime Minister’s language is getting worse with each passing phase of the election. He is speaking in a language that even his supporters will not like.
He said our 17-month-old government had conducted a caste-based survey and had 75 percent reservation. I ask Modiji — which BJP ruled state has 75 percent reservation?
