This time, Saudi Arabia, one of the most influential countries in the Middle East, has announced that it will offer citizenship to foreigners as part of a greater investment in other creative activities to reduce oil dependence. On Thursday (July 4), Saudi Arabia granted citizenship to a number of expatriates engaged in various first-line professions.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Saudi Arabia will grant citizenship to foreign scientists, doctors, researchers, inventors, entrepreneurs and talents with unique skills and specialties. According to the Saudi Arabian news agency SPA, the media Gulf News says that the Saudi administration has recently issued a decree in this regard.

Among those who got citizenship are scientists, doctors, researchers, inventors, entrepreneurs and several other professions. However, the report did not say how many people have been given this citizenship.

According to a report by the news agency SPA, this step was taken as part of the implementation of the Saudi Vision 2030. The country wants to reduce oil dependence. And among other creative sectors, which sector will be invested more or targeted in that report is not mentioned.

Asharq Al-Awsat, a Saudi media outlet, says that those who have already been granted citizenship in Saudi Arabia have come from America, Britain, France and Singapore. Mehmood Khan, Chief Executive Officer of American Citizen Evolution Foundation, Jackie Yu-Roo Eng, Lebanese scientist Nevin Kashab are on this list.

It should be noted that in 2021, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman approved such citizenship for foreigners for the first time in Saudi Arabia. After three years, this approval was again received.
