The United Nations has called for an independent, effective and transparent investigation into the discovery of mass graves at two hospital complexes in Gaza by Israeli forces.

UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk said he was appalled by the scenes at Nasser and the Al-Shifa complex.

Turk said on Tuesday that this should include international investigators, given the prevailing climate of impunity.

A mass grave containing 324 bodies was discovered this week by Gaza Civil Defense workers at the Nasser Medical Complex in the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis.

Earlier in early April, health workers exhumed bodies from a mass grave in Al-Shifa. Palestinians then claimed that Israeli forces killed hundreds of Palestinians and left their bodies to rot.

According to the Gaza Civil Defense, at least 381 bodies have been recovered from al-Shifa since the withdrawal of Israeli forces on April 1.

Last February, the Israeli forces raided these hospitals in Khan Yunis for two weeks.

Incidentally, the number of dead in the Israeli attack so far has reached 34 thousand 262. 77 thousand 229 people were injured.
