US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said on Thursday that Blinken had discussed details with the foreign ministers. He asked them to make it clear that tension is not in anyone’s interest. Countries should convince Iran not to escalate tensions.
He also said, ‘We have been talking to European allies and partners for the past few days. I also called on them to send a clear message to Iran. The message is that tension is not in Iran’s interest, it is not in the region’s interest and it is not in the world’s interest.
It is reported that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz will visit China next week. He will also discuss Iran issue with Beijing.
China is also a member of the BRICS alliance. The country is also an important trading partner for oil exports from Russia and Iran. Iran tacitly follows China’s leadership in emerging markets. Therefore, the United States considers China effective in suppressing Iran.
Approaching China is not new. Earlier, the US has made such a request to China in the face of Iran-backed Houthi attacks in the Red Sea.
However, the United States has admitted several times that they have not received any evidence of China’s pressure on Iran despite repeated requests by the United States.
