Israel launched an attack on Beirut to kill Fuad Shukar alias Muhsin, a senior Hezbollah commander. They claim that the top commander of Hezbollah has been killed. But Hezbollah said, he is alive.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said Fuad was in charge of Hezbollah’s most advanced weapons, including precision-guided missiles, cruise missiles, anti-ship missiles, long-range rockets and UAVs. He was involved in the formation of Hezbollah forces and the planning and execution of major attacks against the State of Israel.

Fuad joined Hezbollah in 1985 and held various senior positions. He was also a member of the Jihad Council, Hezbollah’s top military forum.

In the 1990s, Fouad led many attacks against the IDF and the South Lebanon Army. In 2000, he was directly involved in the abduction of the bodies of three IDF soldiers. Hezbollah fighters killed Israeli Sergeant Benjamin Abraham, Sergeant Adi Avitan, Sergeant Omar Sawaid while patrolling the security perimeter near Har Dov.

According to reports, a loud explosion was heard shortly after the attack in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, and plumes of smoke were seen in the sky south of the Lebanese capital. Hezbollah has a stronghold there.

Saudi media Al-Hadath reported that two people were killed in the attack.

The city had been in tension for days with fears of an Israeli attack in retaliation for the attack on Majdal Shams. Israel and the US have blamed Hezbollah for recent attacks on Israel. However, Hezbollah has not claimed responsibility.

Mentioning Shukar’s death, Israel’s Foreign Minister Yoav Galant X wrote, “Fuad Shukar ‘Sayyid’ Muhsin has the blood of many Israelis on his hands. Tonight, we have shown that the blood of our people is worth it and that no place is far from our forces.
