
Hezbollah removed from Arab League’s list of terrorist groups

The name of Lebanon-based armed group Hezbollah has been removed from the Arab League’s list of terrorist groups. The announcement comes at a time when Hezbollah continues to fight against Israeli forces. This information is known from Al Jazeera’s report.
In a televised address on Saturday (June 29), Arab League Assistant Secretary General Hossam Zaki said Hezbollah is no longer a terrorist organization.
The press Anadolu Agency reported that Zaki said this on the Egyptian Al-Cahra news channel the day after he finished his visit to Beirut. He said that Hezbollah was designated as a terrorist organization in the previous resolutions of the Arab League. Based on this decision, the activities of the organization were conducted and contact (with Hezbollah) was severed. However, Hezbollah is no longer a terrorist organization.
The announcement comes at a time when Hezbollah continues to fight against Israeli forces. The Assistant Secretary General of the Arab League also said that the member states of the League agreed that Hezbollah should no longer be considered a terrorist organization.
At this time, he said, the conditions for establishing relations between Arab League member states and Hezbollah have also been fulfilled.
