Now Slovenia is recognizing Palestine

Slovenia has decided to recognize Palestine as an independent state. The issue will come into effect only if the parliament of the country approves it.

Prime Minister Robert Golub confirmed this on Thursday. He called for an immediate end to the conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, along with the release of all hostages. Al Jazeera news.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Prime Minister of Slovenia made this announcement after three European countries Spain, Norway and Ireland recognized Palestine as an independent state.

In a press conference on Thursday, Prime Minister Robert Golub said, today the government of Slovenia has decided to recognize Palestine as an independent and sovereign state. However, the approval of the country’s parliament will be required to implement this decision. Speaker of the country, Arska Klakocher Zupansis, said that the parliament will vote on this issue next Tuesday.

After the announcement by the Slovenian Prime Minister, Israel’s Foreign Minister Israel Katz said in an X (ex-Twitter) post that he hoped the Slovenian parliament members would reject the proposal.
