The organization has accused the US government of pressuring Hamas to accept a cease-fire proposal proposed by occupying Israel.
The Lebanese representative of Hamas, Osama Hamdan, made this accusation in a press conference in Beirut on Saturday to create pressure on behalf of Washington.
However, the proposal given by Tel Aviv did not accept the condition that Hamas has given to permanently stop the slaughter of Israel in Gaza and completely withdraw the army from the valley, he said.
Osama Hamdan said that the US administration is pressuring Hamas to accept the Israeli ceasefire proposal by keeping it intact. This is an attempt by the US administration to burnish its dirty image.
He said that the United States has fully supported the terrible massacre that Israel has been carrying out in Gaza since October 7. Israel should have stopped the massacre in Gaza long ago if Tel Aviv had not received the country’s arms shipments.
This Hamas spokesman alleged that the US government was trying to play the role of a mediator in the ceasefire negotiations, despite taking Israel’s side on the battlefield.
Hamdan said the ceasefire that Hamas wants in Gaza must be permanent and all Israeli troops must be withdrawn from the Gaza Strip. But Netanyahu’s government wants a temporary ceasefire to free its Palestinian hostages in Gaza.
Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu directly said that the war will not end with the release of hostages, but with the “destroying” of Hamas, the Gaza aggression will stop.
However, Osama Hamdan believes that it is not possible to accept this threat to destroy Hamas and release the Israeli hostages. And that is why the ceasefire talks in Gaza are currently deadlocked.
However, this representative of Hamas claims that the relentless efforts of the United States government to fulfill the desires of Israel are not at all unclear.
At the press conference held in Beirut on Saturday night, Hamdan also said, “We are declaring again that we are serious about establishing a ceasefire; But it must be permanent and all Israeli troops must be withdrawn from Gaza. The two sides will have a prisoner exchange agreement only after that, not before.
It should be noted that since the cross-border attack by Hamas on October 7, Israel has continued to carry out continuous air and ground attacks on the Gaza Strip. Thousands of buildings, including hospitals, schools, refugee camps, mosques, and churches, have been damaged or destroyed in the Israeli attack.
Also, the total number of dead in the ongoing Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip has reached 37 thousand 877 and another 86 thousand 858 have been injured.
