UK sends 2,000 tonnes of food aid to Gaza

UK, March 21: The UK has sent more than 2,000 tonnes of food to war-torn Gaza. This British food aid entered the blockaded area via Jordan. This was confirmed by the British Foreign Ministry on Wednesday.

The United Nations World Food Program (WFP) is distributing food to needy families. This UK relief aid has provided food for over 275,000 people.

According to aid agencies, shortages of food, medicine and clean water are increasing in Gaza.

A UN-backed report says famine and nearly half the population of the entire Gaza Strip are facing “catastrophic hunger”.

“We need sustained humanitarian access by road to get more aid,” British Foreign Secretary David Cameron said in a statement. We continue to press Israel to allow more crossings to open and for longer periods and to restore health care, water and sanitation.

However, the Canadian government has suspended the supply of arms to Israel due to the ongoing war in Gaza. Secretary of State Melania Jolie announced the matter on Tuesday. The move comes after lawmakers voted 204-117 to end gun sales after a lengthy debate earlier Monday.

It’s a real thing, Jolie told The Toronto Star newspaper. for an arms sales moratorium but this was changed to a total ban.

Meanwhile, Israel attacked the relief vehicle again.

23 killed in Israeli attack on food convoy

Hamas said the dead belonged to a tribal group involved in protecting and distributing aid in northern Gaza. They are known as Popular Protection Committees there.

They were killed in an Israeli airstrike on a main square in Gaza City on Tuesday evening.

According to the latest data from the Gaza Ministry of Health, the death toll from Israeli attacks since October 7 has risen to 31,923 and 74,096 wounded. At least 104 Palestinians were killed and 162 injured in the last 24 hours.
