Expatriates disoriented as operation to prevent violations of labor laws in Oman

The expatriates have passed through the terrible situation of memory in Sur Bazar in the Middle Eastern country of Oman.
Although raids were reported in other parts of the country, expatriates in Sur Bazar and its surroundings remained quite calm. However, their illusion ended on Friday afternoon. As many as 100 illegal immigrants were arrested in a special operation.
On this day, from 5:00 pm to 8:30 pm, the administration launched a raid around Sur Bazar, Sanaiya, Seria area, after which all the expatriates present were gathered at one place. Document verification begins.
Those who have valid documents are released. However, expatriates who fail to show valid documents are arrested.
It is known that the arrested expatriates were later produced in the Labor Court. Some of them have been rescued by their owners.
All those without a flag or working in other professions were picked up in cars, even expatriates who were standing on the street selling fish or vegetables for Omanis – were not exempted. Eyewitnesses say that during the operation on this day, there was a terrible panic in Sur Bazar and its surroundings.
In recent times, Oman has embarked on a major campaign at the field level to prevent violations of labor laws.
The country’s Ministry of Labor is conducting continuous inspection activities or searches in different regions. Thousands of expatriates have been arrested in these raids. Bangladeshis and many other expatriates spend their days fleeing in fear.
